We Moved

Gosh I can't believe it's been since the inauguration since I've written! We've been pretty busy these last couple of weeks, We finally found a place with the help of two great friends(Tonya and Debbie) Debbie actually was looking for us because she knew I didn't like the place we were originally going to move in. So we've unpack just about everything and all that's really left is to hang pictures and tidy up some stuff. Tonya was definitely a blessing because while I was working this past weekend she came over and did a lot of the big things for me. The kids haven't switched schools yet because there is a waiting list for Mikequan's class and I don't really want to split them up, so I've been driving them back and forth. Now that we've moved in I was hoping that I could relax this weekend, on my days off, maybe go out and have a couple of drinks with the girls!

On another note I have completely decided to take this losing weight thing way more seriously, I stumbled upon some old pictures of me and I wanted to throw up!!! I looked great! Not that I'm not still cute in the face but.... I'm telling you body parts have completely shifted from then to now.. I feel like I may have been the new rendition of the new world order!! I bought a scale and sadly enough I have been on it everyday since I got it two tines a day to check the statuses of my weight. I have also decided when I'm full, I'm full and I'm not going to continue to eat because there is still food on my plate! hopefully if this keeps up by Memorial day weekend(the jump off to summer) I will be right were I want to be! Wish me luck!

January 20, 2009!!

Well it's been a couple of days and what a great day to pick back up and start a new post!! Today is the Inauguration of President Barack Obama!!! I am here at work(I swear this job never closes for anything! we were even open yesterday for Martin Luther King Jr. Day!) the kids are at home because there was a snow day here and there is NO snow on the ground, and Michael is home with them. I just watched the Inauguration on the computer here and all I can say is WOW! What an amazing accomplishment we have all come to achieve. It makes me so happy that we as Americans have come together to elect this wonderful man into Office! I hope everyone takes some time to just look around and say YES WE DID as a whole not just one race but all races!! As I write this and listen in on CNN's live coverage I can here Celebrate playing in the background! What a great day. Just thought I'd share my feelings with everyone today! I hope you all are as excited about today as I am!! The change starts TODAY!

Homesick

It's Wednesday and the transition back to school and back to work has been all but smooth, due to personal reasons I haven't been back to work yet but the kids have been to school all this week, Mchael still isnt back and I have been extremely home sick... I can't believe i'm calling Maine home but I have definately been missing it this week. The kids received there progress report Yesterday and they are all doing good. Tomorrow it's back to work for me and hopefully next week will run much smoother! Thought I'd give some an update before the end of the week..

The Women

Today was a semi busy day for me and the kids, they didn't wake up until about 1:00 this afternoon, and then we were off to look at a place. I 'm not to sure how i'm going to like it but I'll actually get to peak inside tomorrow at 3. After looking at the place we took a trip to WalMart so I could exchange my Snowman because the motor on it blew and they really tried to tell me that because he was a seasonal item I could not exchange him or get my money back! This made me very agree, so agree in fact that a manager had to be called to assist me and needless to say I got a new snowman. Oh and I bought him for 35.00 and he is now 8.25! After WalMart we went to Borders and I bought a book that a friend from my job has been raving about called the Stephanie Plum Novels, these books are actually going to be my begining of the year reads, there are about 15 of them I think and they sound pretty interesting so I'll keep everyone posted.
So i've cooked dinner and everyone has taken a bath and I decided to watch a movie I picked from the redbox called The Women, what a good movie! I reccomend it for all the ladies reading this that have close friendship and for those whom aren't so dependant upon men. Now that the movie is done I'm off to start my book!

It's 2009!!

Well Christmas has come and gone and so has 2008! It seem like it went by so fast, I guess it's because of all that really happened in 2008, I moved to a new state, I got married, Had a birthday, made history by helping the world to elect the first African American President, and now all of that brings me to 2009. Our Christmas was good, we spent it with one of our favorite familys and this was the first christmas we didn't have any of our family around, but we spent most of our day on the phone with them. Michael was extremely home sick becasue he would normally be in Jamaica for the holiday, but me and the kids were excited because he wasn't! The kids loved there prescents so much actuallt that the are still playing them daily! We did have some dissapointment in these last couple of days and that was that Michaels grandfather passed away, so Michael was given his opportunity to fly off to Jamaica for the funeral and he has left us. So as of now it's me and the kids hanging out until the 5th when they go back to school and I go back to work, I'm hoping this week will fly by so Michael will be back, I've been lokking for a new place for us to call home because we're paying an arm and a leg for rent here and we'd like to save as much money as we can so we can buy a house soon.
We can't wait to see what the year 2009 will have to bring for us but i can definately say we are starting it off right.

4 Days Left!

Here it is Sunday and there are only 4 days left until Christmas, the kids are out of school until January 5th and I normally would be out of work until that time as well but since I moved here and got a new job I will be working during this Christmas break! I'm a little upset about this because for those of you that don't know I work for a school, and our students have been off since last Monday and I'm not sure how I'm supposed to do my job which is Financial Aid when there are no students to enroll or in the building that need help?!? The kids have been pretty excited about having the next couple of weeks off and I'm not sure I can say the same for my husband! He has been extremely bored since he hasn't found a job out here yet and I think the House Dad stuff is starting to make him want to scratch his eyes out.

In the past couple of days since I haven't been on here I've gone to a Christmas party for my job(it was at the Holiday Inn Select) it was o.k Michael seemed to have enjoyed himself he danced quite a bit and he even managed to pull the Director of the college out on the dance floor with him(how embarrassing for me to see him the next day!)I also went to a going away party with Tonya for Alyssa, who's moving back to California until August? (don't ask..it's a Navy thing)that was interesting we went to a place called The Ultra Lounge it was extremely expensive like going out in the city! we had to pay 5.00 dollars to bring in our cameras and 10.00 to get in and 14.00 dollars for a Malibu and Pineapple!! We had went to Chili's before and for the first time ever I was disappointed in my meal! Tonyas wasn't good either.. But her and Alyssa had great drinks called Jamaican Paradise, and they sucked them down like kool-aid, I didn't enjoy my drink (a strawberry frozen Margarita) due to the fact that I could still taste the tooth paste in my mouth from brushing my teeth! Tonya was a little buzzed because she actually stayed on the dance floor, Alyssa was being her natural self, she wasn't drunk so she didn't have that great of a time, and me I just chilled! At the end of the night we took Alyssa home and tonya crashed out on the couch with the kids!

Now it's Sunday morning and I have awakened to the smell of pancakes, bacon, eggs and sausage! Ohhh how I love my husband, he makes the weekends soo great! Antwane is home for the holidays so I know T is excited and so am I because every time the husbands are around it makes for a fun game filled time! I've done just about all of my shopping and it should be smooth sailing for the next couple of days with the exception I have to work!
